Thematics for Business, What Matters to Them Is the Value They Get from the Story You Tell.

Join us for an interactive workshop that explores how thematic communication can transform the way we share ideas, inspire action, and create lasting impact.

About the Workshop

Discover the power of thematic communication, a globally recognised framework developed by Professor Sam Ham, Emeritus Professor of Communication Psychology and Conservation Social Sciences at the University of Idaho.

Facilitated by Greg Bruce, one of Australia’s most experienced sustainability leaders who has spent nearly two decades applying these principles to help Townsville craft a shared narrative that connects people, purpose, and place.

Through practical insights and real-world examples, Greg will demonstrate how thematic communication can be used to engage community and strengthen business storytelling.

Why It Matters

In a world saturated with information, how you tell your story matters as much as what you do. Thematic communication provides a clear, persuasive, and memorable way to make your message resonate, helping your business or organisation build trust, attract investment and inspire positive change.

You’ll Gain Insights into How To:

Embed persuasive, thematic storytelling into your business narrative.
Build authentic connections between people, purpose, and progress
Communicate with clarity, confidence, and impact

Who Should Attend

Local businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators
Industry and government representatives
Educators, researchers, and community members
Anyone interested in how storytelling can amplify engagement and regional impact including sustainability practitioners.

Building Townsville’s Narrative

Townsville is emerging as a leader in circularity and sustainable innovation across North Queensland. From waste-to-value and renewable energy to ecotourism and collaborative partnerships, the city’s story proves that innovation thrives when people connect through purpose.

This workshop continues that momentum, empowering local businesses and leaders to strengthen their own narratives as part of Townsville’s next chapter of growth.
