The Theology and Ethics of Housing in Australia w/ Geraldine Doogue
Description
Australia's housing crisis is usually discussed as a problem of supply, prices and policy. But it is also a moral question — about what we owe one another, what a home is for, and what a just society should provide.
Join acclaimed broadcaster Geraldine Doogue AO for a public conversation exploring what Jewish, Christian and Muslim traditions have to say about housing, land and home, and what faith communities and organisations can contribute to one of Australia's defining social challenges.
The event will mark the official launch of The Dwelling Project, a new multi-year research and public engagement initiative exploring the theology and ethics of housing in Australia.
A collaboration between the University of Notre Dame Australia's Institute for Ethics & Society and Faith Housing Australia, the national peak body for faith-based housing and homelessness organisations, The Dwelling Project brings together academic research, faith leadership and practical housing expertise.
Drawing on the rich theological and ethical traditions of the Abrahamic faiths, the project seeks to deepen our understanding of housing justice and explore how these insights can inspire practical action.
Join us for the launch of this important new initiative and a conversation about housing, justice and the kind of society we want to build.
Free to attend. Light refreshments provided. Bookings essential.
