Pickup came be made from Petersham Service Centre anytime between 8:30am and 5pm.

The booking system will only allow you to book an 8:30am slot, but please feel free to come any time before 5pm.

Find hidden heat leaks and make your home more comfortable!

Borrow a thermal imaging camera to uncover where your home is losing heat in winter or gaining it in summer. It’s an easy and practical way to identify draughts, insulation gaps, and other problem areas that can make your home uncomfortable and increase your energy bills.

By spotting these issues, you can take simple steps to improve comfort and reduce heating and cooling costs.

This service is free and only available to Inner West Council residents.

How it works:

• Borrow a camera for six days

• Pick up Thursdays (8:30am–5pm)

• Instructions are provided with the camera and will emailed to you.

• Return by 5pm the following Tuesday

• Pick-up/drop-off location:
  Reception desk, Petersham Service Centre, 2–14 Fisher St, Petersham
  Alternate pickup/drop-off available by request at the Sustainability Hub, 7 Prospect Rd, Summer Hill (contact details below)

What’s included:

• A quick-start guide to help you use the camera with confidence

• Tips on where and how to scan like windows, doors, walls and ceilings to detect heat loss or gain.

Before you borrow:

• Proof of address (e.g. driver's licence or energy bill) is required at pickup

• Not sure if you live in the Inner West LGA? Search your address here

Tips for use:

• Transfer any images you want to keep to your own PC/device via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or USB-C

• Please delete your photos before returning the device

This service is offered by the Inner West Green Living Centre, a sustainability initiative of Inner West Council.

The Green Living Centre runs workshops, webinars, events and programs at the Inner West Sustainability Hub in Summer Hill, to inspire and support the local community to reduce their environmental impact.
