Meanjin alt-pop outfit These Guy has always been chopping and changing in terms of what it sounds like, who’s in it, where it’s based and whatnot. What will the new year of 2023 contribute to the life-cycle? Predictably, it will usher in another hero-dose of change, when Joe moves down to Canberra.
Before this though, we should have These Guy play one last show (for the foreseeable future) to a Brisbane home crowd before calling it a day (for the foreseeable future). Rest assured, there is no interest within the band, nor will there ever be, in permanently dismantling the project just because one of its members is moving somewhere else. We’ll just say that this is your last chance to see These Guy play a live show for a good while.
Expect to hear a bunch of songs from last year’s A Long-Winded Story LP, as well as several golden oldies. People Mover to warm things up, along with another opening guest TBA. Would love to see you there.
