Event description

These Idle Hands is an elusive kind of sonic event: a bottled blend of lightning and synergy that will excite fans of multiple genres & eras. Always refining & expanding the luminous acoustic balladry & harrowingly intimate lyricism that are the hallmarks of their sound. Two things weigh heavily, their love of hauntingly retrospective Alt folk music, the second being a deep connection with darker aspects of the human condition. TIH have received high praise & air play both here & overseas for their two full length album release’s, Petrichor & Meraki and are soon to release their third self titled album later this year.

"These Idle Hands will pull you in and hold you close like a warm, familiar embrace."
-Beat Mag

"These Idle Hands music, much like fine wine, to be imbibed and savoured within the shadowy twilight of self-reflection and contemplation"
-BlankGC

The Wicked Messenger
is a collaboration of Brisbane musicians  Jimi Beavis (The Holy Rollercoasters) and Jane McEniery (The Good Ship, Doch), playing carefully constructed and confessional quiet folk to jangle rock in what has been described as “wholesome but depressing”. So while they are singing sad songs, there is a balance of solemn contemplation and optimism, as well as playful and lovely banter between the couple and their band between songs.
