Thibault & Guy Blackman @ Tanswells

Melbourne dreamy pop group Thibault venture eastwards for their first shows out of Melbourne since forming shortly before pandemic times. Thibault is the project of Nicole Thibault, a mainstay of '90s-'00s Brisbane/Melbourne DIY pop through her fondly-remembered motorik pop band Minimum Chips. For this new self-titled band she is joined by Rebecca Liston and Stella Rennex (Parsnip), along with Zoe Monk and Sam Lyons (Eggy). Thibault's debut album Or Not Thibault was released by Chapter Music in 2020 and celebrated by the likes of Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill) and Tim Gane (Stereolab).

Thibault are joined in Beechworth by another former Minimum Chips member, Guy Blackman, playing his half sly, half sincere piano-driven pop in solo mode. Guy also runs Melbourne record label institution Chapter Music (home to Thibault, Goon Sax, Laura Jean and many others), which celebrates its 30th birthday this year.
