About Tobi Pearce
Tobi Pearce is the Co-Founder and former CEO of Sweat, one of the world's largest content subscription apps in the health and fitness industry. As CEO, Pearce leveraged deep knowledge in business strategy, marketing and technology to build a community of more than 50 million women in more than 155 countries, and after having bootstrapped the company for 5 years, led the team to a 9 figure exit. On the journey, Pearce was recognised by EY as an award winner in the Entrepreneur Of The Year program, Indaily’s 40 Under 40 as one of the ‘fit tech’ industry’s top entrepreneurs with his enterprising leadership and a proven eye for innovation and disruptive thinking , receiving the Inspiring Disruptor award as well as many other accolades. Since his exit from Sweat he has been working with his other co-founded organisation EzLicence within the licensing industry, having already guided the company through two successful fundraising rounds and now preparing for international growth.
Alongside this work, he plays a key role to many founders in an advisory and mentoring capacity for a variety of different businesses industries including property, mining, legal, tech, retail and ecommerce. In his downtime he enjoys spending quality time with his wife Rachel and beautiful 5 year old daughter Arna, perfecting new pieces on the piano after over 25 years of study, as well as practising Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Your Host: Joel Abraham - ThincLab Growth & Strategy Coach
Joel Abraham has over 20 years of commercial experience, is a marketing and finance graduate from Flinders University (Adelaide), holds an International Certificate in Corporate Finance from Columbia University (NY, USA) and undertaken the Company Directors Course from AICD (Australia). Between 2005-2018 Joel was the CEO of Australian Institute of Business (AIB) and during this time led the business through the turnaround from a small family-business to become the largest MBA provider in Australia and one of the largest private higher education institutions in Australia.
In 2015, Joel led a sale process that resulted in a top- decile Australian private equity firm acquiring 50% of AIB. Joel stayed on as CEO until his exit from the role in 2018, and still maintains a board seat and significant equity position. Joel is now an active director and investor, specifically working with high growth South Australian SME’s.
