Think Like a Forest - Tairāwhiti Film Screening
Event description
Think Like a Forest is a film about the incredible, diverse native forests in Aotearoa and all of their benefits.
A national film, featuring a lineup of some of our most talented local kaitiaki and images of Tairawhiti’s whenua, awa and moana, this is an evening not to be missed.
The film covers topics from finding funding to support the protection and reforestation of native bush, educating about the importance of native species, and undertaking action on the ground.
This evening will take us on an exploration of why protecting and restoring our native forests is urgently needed and how doing this can build resilience in our whenua and for our communities, so that we can all thrive.
Following the film, there will be a:
· Q&A session with the producer and Tairāwhiti cast, then
· A panel discussion on the benefits of native regeneration in Tairāwhiti
The Dome will have the bar open and pizzas available to order.
What is Recloaking Papatūānuku?
Recloaking Papatūānuku is an ambitious environmental restoration initiative to restore and enhance more than 2 million hectares of native forest and wetland in Aotearoa, over the next 30 years. By restoring the cloak on our whenua, we create resilience for the future, drawing down carbon and future proofing against climate-related events.
