Thinking about Difficult Conversations & Boundary Setting in the Supervisory Relationship
Event description
Supervision has long been established as an essential practice ensuring the development of competent mental health professionals. This workshop aims to explore a particularly challenging aspect of the supervisory experience: Navigating those difficult conversations with supervisees that test our abilities to skillfully manage professional and personal boundaries all while maintaining the supervisory relationship.
This workshop will enhance supervisors’ abilities to engage in effective, respectful, and growth-oriented difficult conversations with their supervisees. Participants will learn from large group instruction as well as live practice experiences, and will leave with conceptual and practical tools for more confidently 'leaning in' to these difficult conversations.
