Description

Is your garden ready to beat the summer heat?

Help your garden thrive without adding to your watering, maintenance or costs.

Join Hannah Smith from Budding Concepts to discover how gardening with the seasons and natural cycles can help you make smarter choices during Birak.

We will be exploring:

  • Significance of the six seasons to Noongar culture,

  • Pests, diseases and disorders to watch out for,

  • Edible gardens and what to sow and harvest in the vegetable patch,

  • Keep your soil healthy in dry conditions,

  • Recognise and treat water-repellent soil,

  • Supporting native wildlife through hot, dry weather,

  • Reduce fire risks, manage fuel loads and understand total fire bans,

  • Managing summer weeds.

Join us at Caversham Community Centre on Saturday, December 5, 9am–11am, to learn how to create a thriving garden for your family and local wildlife.

This event is free, but please register for a ticket to secure your place.
