Description

Would you like to be part of a community where everyone has each other's back? Starting with hearing and supporting each other?

TLC is a place for practising deep listening, bringing more clarity to our lives, and building strong local community that's better prepared for meeting challenges and living joyously.

TLC offers an experiential approach to deep listening skills, held in a safe and supportive environment. Run in the style of a support group, each evening will include group connection, paired sharing, and a little theory. You'll also have individual time being listened to — actively and non-judgementally — by highly experienced facilitators, recognising the healing that comes from receiving attention and truly being heard.

The structure of each evening draws on a process used in co-counselling (also know as Re-evaluation Counseling, see https://www.reevaluationcounseling.org/). You'll learn the process experientially. This is an opportunity to meet others interested in bringing this practice into their lives, and to deepen connections within your community. Between facilitated group sessions, you'll be invited to meet with one or two other participants for a paired sharing, lasting around 10–15 minutes.

Facilitators

Jen Hall, lead facilitator, brings 30 years of peer counselling experience, along with many years running workshops, meetings, and support groups grounded in frameworks of inclusivity. Jen's approach is informed by self-enquiry and direct exploration of being present in the here and now.

Tom Colley has a background in environmental management and activism. He has researched and taught eco-social capacity-building at Western Sydney University, has led many workshops on community care and regenerative culture, and has used and shared peer counselling processes for 7 years.

Commitment

This is a closed group, meeting over three sessions:

  • September 10th

  • October 8th

  • November 12th

7–9pm each evening.

Joining means committing to all three sessions. We're keeping the group closed so that trust, safety, and connection can deepen over time between the same people.

You're invited to join us on this journey to deepen connection — with yourself, and with others in your community.

Testimonial: “Jen has created such a safe and important gift in TLC. The group has let me experience the healing power of truly being heard, supported, and encouraged to release emotions that are trapped inside. It has also taught me about really listening to others, helping me become a better parent and friend. While the emotions shared by myself and others can be real and raw, Jen offers such a warm and joyful energy that grounds me in connection, humour, and hope.” Jill Rosenthal
