Event description

Join us and learn from expert History Teachers and experts in Critical Thinking pedagogy.

Given the central importance of concepts in teaching history, these practical workshops will showcase how to nurture student thinking about the concepts mandated by the History curriculum (evidence, change continuity, cause and effect, perspectives, empathy, and contestability).

Targeting teaching core and elective courses for Stages 4, 5 or 6 these workshops will provide accessible introductions to several practical classroom activities for activating student thinking about historical concepts. Classroom strategies and resources will be shared with participants.

This event is coordinated by the Centre for Critical Thinking and Ethics, Newington College and is part of the Critical Thinking Across the Curriculum series.

This event is not for profit. There is a conference fee of $40 to cover the cost of catering.
