The 'ThinKtanK 4 Kids Forum' has been scheduled to coincide with the National Child Protection Week
Friday 7th September 2018
9:30am to 12:00pm (followed by refreshments)
The Port Club
9 Queen Street
Alberton (20 min from CBD)
How does family dysfunction experienced in early childhood impact our teenagers of today and leaders of tomorrow?
What are the key focus areas for child protection in South Australia from a community perspective?
To answer these questions, a panel consisting of a broad cross-section of political, academic leaders and advocates are coming together to contribute their valuable insights, expertise and diverse worldviews in a child-centric forum.
The panel will explore the influence of the recently launched People's Policy of Children's Wellbeing, transition/impacts of the new legislation Child and Young People (Safety) Act 2017, potential gaps in the current system, the impact of childhood dysfunction on future society, together with views on potential solutions and priorities. Using a collaborative, not adversary model, it is intended that the synergy created from this forum will result in 2-3 clear priority directions for government consideration particularly considering a recent article on Child Protection spending.
The ThinKtanK 4 Kids Forum is a unique yet innovative approach to gathering the views of community and organisations while fundraising for Treasure Boxes, a worthy and related cause.

The venue, while not city based as originally suggested, is only 20 minutes from the CBD with the room featuring floor to ceiling windows providing a spectacular panoramic view of Alberton Oval and the Adelaide Hills backdrop. Free parking is available at the front of the venue.
Power Community Limited (PCL) drives real social and economic change in our community through programs that create education and employment outcomes. Their programs cover some of the key issues confronting young people in society; wellbeing and resilience, respectful relationships, cultural awareness and reconciliation, youth education pathways and retention, and employment transitions. Programs are focused on Youth, Aboriginal and Multicultural program pillars and reach a variety of audiences including those in metropolitan Adelaide through to remote communities in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS...
Thank you to our many sponsors and attendees for supporting this event . Due to their generousity, 100% of the ticket sales and donations will be given to Treasure Boxes, a charity dedicated to alleviating the trauma experienced by South Australian kids living in disadvantage through situations of crisis, foster care and risk fleeing domestic violence.
ABOUT THE ORGANISER...
Lorelle Molde, as a DV Survivor and Innovator, is committed to sharing the great work of people from all levels of society in the social issues space together with facilitating authentic connections and interactions. Her passion revolves around awareness raising of family and domestic violence. This had led her to organise two DV Conferences, become an active White Ribbon Advocate through volunteering my time to the accreditation of a state government department together with more recently becoming a Co-Facilitiator for FADVAN (Family & Domestic Violence Advocacy Network). In addition, within her personal life, she have supported several children and teenagers at risk, disadvantaged and within foster care. Lorelle has lived experience in domestic violence together with supporting her 15 year old daughter and her friends through extensive bullying, anxiety, depression, suicide attempts, partying culture implications and USI. This is where she discovered the great work that Treasure Boxes do and as a result became an Ambassador for 2018.
