Come one and all ~experienced or no experience ~ and let's dive into our bodies, becoming fluid, expressing, dissolving and coming home to our truth and into presence. Here we find freedom and compassion for the shadow and the light that makes us whole. All welcome, no steps to learn - start just where you are now- whatever that looks like

We'll be dancing together and honouring the sacredness of our body, our community, the broader community and this incredible living, breathing planet we inhabit. Both experienced and first time dancers are are most welcome.

Each step we take is at once a birth and death, a new opportunity to let go, shed, release say farewell to regrets, fears, anger tensions, and an opportunity to feel a new opening, possibility.

This practise is an invitation to tune in and feel the full potential of each step we take.

You can take inspiration David Whyte's poem "Start Close In" to begin your movement...

Start close in,
don’t take the second step
or the third,
start with the first thing
close in,
the step you don’t want to take.....

I look forward to starting close in with you!

5Rhythms Dance is a dynamic freeform movement meditation practice that ignites creativity, connection, and community. Rather than having steps to follow, each rhythm ievokes a different energy in which you find your own expression and movement. There is some facilitation and inspiration for movement. As we drop into our body, listen, express and move with the body's impulses, we come home. The practise is very simple and accessible to people of all ages and abilities, and suitable for anyone who wants to rediscover the joy and freedom of dance that is within us all.

BIo:
Sue Andersen has been practicing Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms since 2008 and completed her teacher training in 2016. She is excited to share the 5R Waves map, supporting people to return again and again to their body, to explore and express their unique dance and to discover the freedom and aliveness that comes when we surrender our minds to our feet, to the dance.
