Description

"Your thirsty sword lesbians may be fantasy heroes, or may inhabit a galaxy of laser swords and starships. Anywhere that swords cross and hearts race, thirsty sword lesbians are there."

The Melbourne Queer TTRPG Community Inc., with support from Lesbians Inc., are proud to present Thirsty Long Weekend: Thirsty Sword Lesbian One Shots for Sapphics

We have designed these events to focus on the more sapphic-leaning section of the queer community - whether you're lesbian, bi, pan, ace/aro, demi - cis, trans, non binary or other and feel some affiliation with the Sapphic label, you're welcome at these games.

Choose from the Online or In Person One Shots. You'll have the opportunity to create your character, collaborate with your fellow players and GM .

What your ticket gets you:

  • 1 Session of Thirsty Sword Lesbians with a professional sapphic GM

  • Your own custom character

  • 3 hour-long session

  • In Person: Catered snacks for your game

  • Online: $25 food delivery voucher for each game

What is Thirsty Sword Lesbians?

The cover of the Thirsty Sword Lesbians Roleplaying game by April Kit Walsh features two women (thirsty sword lesbians), swords crossed gazing into each others eyes).

Thirsty Sword Lesbians is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game (where you create a character and make choices for your character with the aid of dice) by April Kit Walsh. Thirsty Sword Lesbians celebrates the love, power, and existence of queer people. If you love roleplaying games and angsty disaster sapphics with swords, you've come to the right place.

Who are the Melbourne Queer TTRPG Community Inc.?

The Melbourne Queer TTRPG Community is for queer folks in Naarm (so-called Melbourne) and surrounds to get together and bond over our love of tabletop roleplaying games.

FAQs

  • Do I have to be a lesbian to play?

You don't have to be a lesbian to play. We have designed these events to focus on the more sapphic-leaning section of the queer community - whether you're lesbian, bi, pan, ace/aro, demi - cis, trans, non binary or other and feel some affiliation with the Sapphic label, you're welcome at these games.

The game plays with themes that are common for all sorts of people who are marginalised on the basis of gender and sexuality, as well as feelings that go beyond the queer experience.

  • What if I'm aro/ace? Do I have to play a "thirsty" character?

From the book: "The game fundamentally assumes the characters crave connection, but that connection doesn't need to be sexual or romantic. The Entice move can relate to any kind of physical or emotional desire, and you can tweak it for a different focus or community connection instead of their physical or romantic desires. Using this variant can be a non-romantic way to explore community connection, chosen family, and close friendships in face of obstacles posed by the characters' own emotional conflict and by the outside world."

  • What if I have dietary requirements?

If you are playing in person, we will do our darndest to make sure your dietary requirements are catered to for each session.

If you are playing online, we will organise food delivery vouchers for you, so you have control over what you're ordering.

  • Is the in-person venue wheelchair accessible?

Elder Gods and Dragons, our in person venue, does have stairs and non-accessible bathrooms and is therefore not wheelchair accessible.

  • Do I need to have played Tabletop Roleplaying Games before?

No prior experience is required. Our professional GMs will teach you and help you with learning the system.

  • What safety tools are available?

Player safety is important to us.

As a base, the GM will work with you all to create "The Palette" at the start of the first session. This includes different concepts you want to include or exclude from the game. GMs will also use standard safety tools such as either the X-card or Lines/Veils or a mixture of both.

If there is ever an issue at the table that can't or hasn't been resolved with the GM and/or other players, you can email hello@melbqueerttrpgs.com for additional mediation.
