This Could Be Anywhere in the World: Launceston

Event description

The Stampede Trail, Karinya Young Women's Service & Magnolia Place are proud to present the Tasmanian premiere of Simon Williams' highly-anticipated film, This Could Be Anywhere in the World.

The award-winning director's second short film takes us 'behind closed doors' as it exposes the psychological impact of domestic abuse.

Where the film highlights the darkness behind those closed doors, the Private Premiere Event will highlight how the beauty of community and support can shine a light for those feeling broken and alone. As a community, we will rally together to inspire those in need.

Every ticket offers you access to: pre-drinks, musical guest & guest speakers, the film & silent auction.

Each ticket includes a drink of your choice on arrival, a donation to the This Could Be Anywhere in the World Global Film Initiative and a donation to our charity partners, Karinya Young Women's Service & Magnolia Place (Launceston Women's Shelter).

The silent auction will consist of items & artworks donated by incredible local artists & businesses in support of the This Could Be Anywhere in the World Global Film Initiative, Karinya Young Women's Service & Magnolia Place (Launceston Women's Shelter).

Doors will open at 5:45pm, with the event commencing at 6:30pm & the Silent Auction closing at 8pm.

"We hope you can join us to support this wonderful not-for-profit event, Karinya Young Women's Service & Magnolia Place (Launceston Women's Shelter), the This Could Be Anywhere in the World Global Film Initiative as it presents these film events all around the world (supporting women's shelters & domestic violence support services), as well as, the thousands of Tasmanian women & children rendered homeless due to family and domestic abuse.
From the entire team - we thank you for your generous heart."
