For our final concert of the season, the West Village Chorale, in collaboration with Jersey City-based Nimbus Dance, consider where we are as a nation as we mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

This Land Is Your Land centers on two pieces by acclaimed composer Saunder Choi: his New Colossus, a compelling setting of the Emma Lazarus poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty, and the world premiere of Angel Island Lamentations, commissioned by the Chorale and featuring world-premiere choreography for Nimbus by Houston Thomas.

Sharing the program are beautiful and inspiring contemporary works by award-winning composers Melissa Dunphy, Caroline Shaw, Moira Smiley, and Alex Berko. The program is tied together by Robert DeCormier's reflective arrangement of the Woody Guthrie song that gives our concert its name. We hope you will be able to join us!
