THIS WAY ORKESTRA - Dub Muster Single Launch + Birthday Party
Event description
After a sell-out single launch at The Polish Club in August, Canberra’s powerhouse 10-piece band This Way Orkestra is back — this time at DISSENT Café + Bar — to launch their brand-new single Dub Muster. A reggae song infused with Western cinematic swagger and featuring Jim on lead vocals, Dub Muster shows a new side of the Orkestra’s ever-evolving sound. The night will also feature the premiere of the official music video, making this an event that blends music, film, and dancefloor energy.
Dub Muster marks the second single from their forthcoming EP, due January 2026, following the release of Coin Collector. With each track, the band expands their adventurous sound while staying true to the driving Afrobeat, ska, reggae, dub, and ethio-jazz roots that define their live energy.
Warming up the dancefloor and keeping the vibes flowing before and after the band are three selectors from within the Orkestra’s own ranks:
DJ Mondongo (Simon) – digging deep into Afrobeat, rare groove, and global rhythms.
DJ Rafaga (Rafa) – firing up cumbia, Latin soul, and tropical beats.
DJ Combe (Nick) – blending esoteric ethio-jazz, dub, and left-field vinyl gems.
Expect a sonic journey across continents, with dancefloor heat from start to finish! Adding to the celebration, the night will also serve as the joint birthday party for band members Nick and Dan, come along an help us celebrate!
