The name Thorn-Clarke derives literally from the relationship between two long time Barossa families. History dating back to 1870, Thorn-Clarke has six-generations of knowledge and experience in the Barossa wine industry. Vineyard development over 140 years has secured significant and diverse land holdings throughout the Barossa and Eden Valley. The family’s estate vineyards ensure Thorn-Clarke produces distinctive varietal wines true to their region.
Chris Walsh has 21 years’ experience in the wine and hospitality industry, and has undertaken many different roles from retail management to front of house fine dining. He also holds a degree of Bachelor of Wine Marketing from the University of Adelaide.
For the last 5 years he has been with Thorn-Clarke Wines as their Asia Pacific Market Manager, and is responsible for the sale and development of the brand across 14 countries. Prior to Thorn-Clarke, Chris worked at Negociants Australia. In addition, he was awarded the SA Area Manager of the year on multiple occasions, a state ‘Working With Wine’ finalist, and has completed WSET Level 3.
