About Odette

Odette Barry is a storyteller who loves nothing more than helping industry disrupters share their stories - on stages, in books, and through media. As a publicist, PR mentor, and founder of Odette & Co, a micro PR agency based in Byron Bay, she specialises in amplifying the visibility of purpose-driven leaders.

With a background in communications for Westpac, the Australian Physiotherapy Association, TAFE NSW, and Women’s Fitness, Odette brings extensive industry expertise.

Since founding Odette & Co in 2015, she has collaborated with social entrepreneurs tackling issues like refugee employment, birth reform, homelessness, consumerism, and climate leadership.

Odette also hosts the Hack Your Own PR podcast, where she interviews top journalists and media professionals, demystifying the publicity process.

Six years ago, she created courses to empower founders to secure their own media coverage, bridging the gap for startups that can't afford a publicist early on. To date, she has taught over 5,000 founders through her podcast and online programs, including Authority Brand, Meet The Media, and Hack Your Own PR.
