FDV-informed Practice Supervision Training

Three-day masterclass delivered online

Family and Domestic Violence-informed Supervisor training is a two-day tertiary course. This course provides the advanced knowledge and skills for staff to be able to undertake in-depth, comprehensive FDV and sexual violence-informed supervision to their staff. Participants will also learn the competencies of effective supervisors, function of supervision, and processes while bringing FDV and sexual violence-informed skills into supervision.

This course is recommended for supervisors and managers who have attended previous FDV-informed training, and aligns with Domestic Family Sexual Violence and Child Wellbeing Supervision Best Practice Guidelines: Best practice supervision guidelines: Family violence, sexual assault and child wellbeing.

This course is currently with the ACA for endorsement as a recognised training course in supervision.

Understanding Safe Uncertainty and bringing skills into FDV and sexual violence practice supervision
Social Graces: How can we reflect on privilege within FDV and sexual violence-informed supervision
Adopting self-care strategies when exposed to FDV.

Advanced Supervision Skills
Managing risk, vicarious trauma, conflict, parallel process
Types of Supervision
Supervision Simulation Practice
Real-world case practice in pairs with observer feedback
