Elaine Paton stars in this thrilling, interactive, immersive one-woman show, delving – with forensic detail - into the true-life disappearance of… herself. 4 performances only: 1-3 September Leichhardt Town Hall. Through the Cracks is a theatrical crime-style investigation that dives deep into issues of ageing, identity and homelessness, as non-nonsense Welsh Inspector ‘Myfwany Tilly’ leads an enquiry into the true-life disappearance of her alter ego, Elaine.

In the style of true-life crime drama, and with the help of the audience, Tilly pores through evidence - real diaries, photos and more - to piece together the narrative of Elaine’s life that doesn’t quite add up – and give clues to what has happened. Then… an even more surprising twist.

This autobiographical story is a powerful window into one of the biggest social issues of our time.

“Older women are rarely represented in theatre,” says Elaine. “We are also the fastest growing cohort of homeless people, sleeping in cars… or worse. My story could be any women’s story, it just happens to be mine.”

Through the Cracks, written and performed by Elaine Paton, is directed by Aarne Neeme with video artist Gail Kenning.
