Tick Tick Boom
Bohemian Theatricals presents Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick…BOOM ! at Ground Floor Theatre. On the brink of turning 30, a promising theatre composer navigates love, friendship, career, and the pressures to create and achieve success. The show celebrates human resilience. This 90-minute musical with no intermission is directed by Rick Roemer, with musical direction by Susan Finnigan and featuring Andrew Cannata, Tyler Jones & Haley Smith Patterson.
Prior to his Pulitzer Prize winning musical RENT, Larson had a workshop of his musical Superbia in New York. Unfortunately, no producer was interested in mounting a production. In response to his feelings about this, Larson wrote tick, tick…BOOM! as a solo autobiographical one-man rock ‘n roll musical in the early 1990s which he performed around New York City. In 1996 Jonathan Larson’s life was tragically cut short. He died January 25, 1996 on the morning of RENT’S first preview performance Off-Broadway, after suffering an aortic dissection. His estate and friends ultimately turned tick, tick…BOOM! into a full 3-person musical.
