TID Talks - Ideas not worth spreading
Event description
TidTalks is a unique-ish* show, in which 6 of Aotearoa’s finest comedians and improvisers will do what comedians do best - appear confident and pretend they know exactly what they’re talking about. The twist? They won’t know what their subject of “expertise” is, until they walk onto the stage! Luckily though, they will have help in the form of slides (they won’t have seen them either, but anyway), to guide themselves and the audience on a journey of ideas which are definitely not worth sharing.
Topics have included:
- How actively melting Antarctic ice could be the answer to the climate crisis
- How to detect a narcissist using a metal detector
- What strip clubs can teach us about effective pedagogy
Competing for the title of best speaker of the word of bollocks on 2 February, we have:
- Georgia West-Cahill
- Sam Gibson
- Aimee Borlase
- Troubadette
- Molly Wilkin
- Eve Wingerath
The show will be MC’d by Comedian, legend and Cult Leader, Snap of Ōtautahi
Thought provoking TidTalk topics and slides will be written and created by the deep thinker and academically gifted comedian, Matt Lilley
*TidTalks is absolutely NOT a rip off of a successful show format from Australia because we’ve changed it slightly.
