FILMMAKERS' STATEMENT
One of the main motivations behind our film is to improve diversity within the film industry. Our locally and independently produced feature film is led by a talented cast and crew of emerging artists, predominantly women and/or queer creatives. All funds raised directly strengthen the outcomes of Tidal’s production, which commences in the spring. Tickets and donations directly support our project’s quality and accessibility, facilitates the growth of emerging artists’ abilities, and increases diverse representation visibility in key roles. Tidal is a love letter to Boorloo/Perth’s places and community. We look forward to showcasing Boorloo/Perth on-screen through a fresh perspective. Independent filmmaking is how unconventional (lacking from mainstream media) stories get made, and we extend an open invitation to anyone to feel empowered in the co-creation of this narrative by getting involved. Any amount of support demonstrates and aligns with our commitment to the cultural enrichment of WA’s filmmaking community and the brilliant artists present here, still yet to be seen and discovered.
