Take time to reflect on the beauty of textiles and the purpose of fashion in this half-day, hands-on workshop where the emphasis is on shaping and draping fabric to suit the body. Learn how to make clothes that fit your style without using complicated patterns or even doing much sewing.

Starting by playing with paper, we'll try out ideas for a dress (or outfit) and then make a scale model in cloth using hand-printed natural textiles such as linen, cotton, and silk. My aim is to help you discover simple shapes that can be put together with fabulous fabrics to create something individual and special. In doing so, you will see how rewarding it is to take the time to follow your own style. And that it is not too difficult to create something uniquely your own.

We will not be making functional clothes in this workshop; the emphasis is on exploration and enjoyment. None-the-less, everyone will have the opportunity to take home something of their own making.
