Description

Like the flâneur who discovers wonder in the overlooked corners of the city, visitors encounter a tiny landscape hidden within their daily passage. Miniature Xanthorrhoea sculptures rise from a handcrafted terrain of grasses, earth, and resin waterholes, inspired by one of Australia's most resilient and majestic native plants.

Niccy Pallant's exhibition reflects on growth, the surety of renewal, and the remarkable potential held within even the smallest beginnings. From seed to ancient grass tree, the Xanthorrhoea embodies patience, endurance, and adaptation. Known for surviving fire, drought, and environmental change, it stands as a powerful symbol of resilience within the Australian landscape.

The miniature installation invites close observation, rewarding viewers who slow down and look carefully. Surrounding the terrain, a collection of prints depicting bouquets of native flowers celebrates the richness and diversity of Australian flora.

Presented as a small world discovered amid the routines of urban life, Tiny Guardians offers a moment of quiet reflection on the beauty, resilience, and interconnectedness of the natural environment, and the wonder that can be found when we pause long enough to notice it.
