Tjilatjirrin Pollinator Walk
Description
Pollinator Walk in a Rejuvenated Green Space
Join Village Zero for a guided Pollinator Walk through the newly planted Tjilatjirrin Reserve in Sandringham. We will explore how indigenous plants (like the abundant Austral stork’s-bill) support local pollinators in the Bayside Pollinator Corridor (BPC). The event will begin with a short BPC information session presented by Dr Luis Mata, insect ecologist and iNaturalist Ambassador. We’ll then take a stroll through Tjilatjirrin Reserve, stopping along the way to observe pollinators such as bees, butterflies and other flower-visiting insects among indigenous plantings. Participants will also have the option to record observations using iNaturalist (with the help of Village Zero volunteers if required).
Suitable for adults and children with an interest in nature, insects, or citizen science - simply book via Humanitix. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water and sun protection.
