Tjum Tjumba Launch Fundraiser

Price $15 AUD + BF Get tickets

Event description

Tjum Tjumba is teaming up with Glamorama to create an inclusive space for audiences to get to know the Tjum Tjumba mission and family.

Tjum Tjumba (meaning "beat-beat" in Djab Wurrung) is an Aboriginal-owned organisation that is dedicated to embracing, promoting, and celebrating Aboriginal culture, making it accessible to a broader audience through the combination of traditional Aboriginal knowledge with modern societal cultural practices, primarily the universal language of music.

Founded by Michael 'The Music Man' Ma'ilo, Tjum Tjumba will provide a safe & familial avenue for the Aboriginal community to involve themselves within the music & events scene and learn from the experienced industry professionals that make up the team.

From 5pm, Tjum Tjumba artists will run through a series of production & DJ showcases to provide insight into the talent & sound within the organisation, alongside a networking session that will inform patrons on how to further get involved.

The launch also serves as a fundraiser for the organisation as it looks ahead at funding production lessons, record releases, artist management, and further avenues of support for Indigenous artists looking to elevate their career in music & events.  The launch will be taking place in the expanded courtyard of the newly renovated Glamorama, featuring a new twist on Glamorama's industrial aesthetic & a top of the line Funktion One system installed by Full Throttle, known for their work at Pitch Music & Arts, Let Them Eat Cake, and beyond.

This event is the first of many future collaborations between the venue and Tjum Tjumba and patrons who attend the launch are able to remain in the venue as Glamorama's Saturday night programming begins.
