    Event description

To The Ends of the 'Verse is a casual poetry night for people to share their works or the works of others. Sharing very new or rough drafts is certainly encouraged and no prior poetry experience is required. Our band, O'Stanger-Tang! offer up freestyle jams and improvised vocals, this night is very welcoming and wholesome 🙂

Sign up to the open mic by sending us a message at or putting your name down on the sign up sheet at the gig.

Doors open at 7pm and gig starts at 7:30pm.

You can either buy a ticket through Humanitix, pay with cash or card at the gig:

If money is a barrier to accessing this event, please come and chat with us. Art should be financially accessible, but we also need to pay our band, door person and host. A delicate balance indeed!

We are going to be recording this event on Facebook, so you can watch our livestream at

We ask that you do not attend our event if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Even if it is not covid, it may still be contagious and we can care for each other by minimising the spread of viruses.

Accessibility: When entering the venue, the stage area where the open mic poets and band performs is immediately on the right of the door. You need to travel through the seated audience with a narrow walkway to access the bar. Behind the bar is the beer garden, smoking area and toilets. There is a small step at the doorway entrance, the walkway between seats is normally quite narrow with very little room to turn around if you're on wheels! The cubicle toilets (outside, in the beer garden/smoking area) all have steps before accessing them. The audience tends to be attentive to the open mic poets so the poets voice in the microphone is the main sound. The band sets are quite loud as there are drums and amplifiers, plus multiple vocalists on microphones.

As this is an open mic event, we do not know the content that will be shared on the night. People of all ages are welcome to share something on the open mic.
