To the Owner: Delivery walk, Friday 20 November
About
This guided public walk (limited to three people) is part of a larger public program series accompanying the UTS Gallery exhibition To the Owner by Alana Hunt.
Join the artist in conversation as she delivers letters as part of the artwork To the Owner (of multiple properties). The walks are an opportunity to share intimate discussions with Hunt as she thinks through the possibilities and provocations the letters spur.
To the Owner (of multiple properties) comprises the ongoing delivery of more than 3,000 oversized letters to the wealthiest streets in the wealthiest suburbs of Gadigal Nura/Sydney. Each letter contains a playful yet genuine proposition: that owners of multiple homes provide the artist with free housing for a decade. Deadpan in tone, the letters reveal the absurdity of wealth accumulation and class privilege on unceded Aboriginal Land.
