ABOUT TOBY WREN
The Toby Wren Quartet present reflections on the music of Miles Davis, joined by keyboard wiz Sean Foran, and the Parker Brothers, John and Elliott on Drums and Bass respectively (no relation). This gig will explore the music from the early crossover and fusion period Miles including music from Miles in the Sky, Tribute to Jack Johnson and In a Silent Way.
Toby Wren is a Brisbane based guitarist and composer who teaches jazz guitar at the Queensland Conservatorium and has released seven albums of his original compositions for various ensembles. Sean Foran and John Parker are two thirds of the legendary Trichotomy renowned for their sensitivity, scope, and rhythmic virtuosity, and Elliott Parker is a JMI alumnus and emerging artist who is an in-demand accompanist and bandleader.
