    Event description

Tom Brown and Brushtail, and Rockton Records, invite you to an evening performance celebrating the release of their new EP ‘Happening’, supported by Jack Gaby, at the Fremantle Buffalo Club.

‘Happening’ is the result of recent collaborations between Ryan Borrett and Tom Fawkner, who were initially working together earlier in 2024 for the release Tom’s album ‘My Holland Street Heart’. Eclectic and diverse, the collection of songs on the 'Happening EP' skates through splashes of alt, nu jazz, and lo-fi pop rock; with Brushtail’s production palette a welcome pasture for Tom to roam. Joined by a full band with Benjamin French and Lachlan Tan.

Jack Gaby returns west via Naarm for a brief window, treating us to the delightful, angelic sounds as heard on his recently released ‘Soggy Flowers’ EP. This raw and intimate release spans across countrygaze to indie pop, and delves into queer identity, queer love, and the long coming-of-age process.

Tickets: Tickets available via Humantix and on the door ($15 non-members, $10 club members)

    Set times: Doors - 6:30PM

    Jack Gaby - 7:00PM

Tom Brown and Brushtail - 8:00PM

Venue information: The Fremantle Buffalo Club (54 High St, Fremantle/Walyalup) is a not-for-profit association, run by a committee, elected by its membership. The Buffalo Club is an inclusive space, and you can become a member through its website.

Accessibility: The performance will be in the Buffalo Club’s downstairs stage area. This space is wheelchair accessible. There will be stage lighting, but no bright flashing lights. The club’s downstairs social bar has a full size billiard table, two pool tables, and two dart boards. There is no current disabled access for the upstairs function hall (not being used for this event).

This event is taking place on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation, and the hosts would like to acknowledge their custodianship of this Country over generations, and give respect to their Elders, and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
