Boorloo/Perth exploratory music label Tone List returns to Naarm in our first show in the city since 2019. Come for a hang at Long Play to listen to artists from our label catalogue alongside friends.
Boorloo-based duo Land's Air consist of Eduardo Cossio (amplified zithers, electronics) and Josten Myburgh (alto saxophone, electronics). This year they launched their debut self-titled album, and played a 15-show tour of Europe. Their music works in an idiosyncratic microtonal space where they carve out melodies from the interaction of detuned strings and woodwind multiphonics. Antiphonal music for dream congregations.

Shoshana Rosenberg's radical solo performances on bass clarinet create chant-like, meditative spaces and explore relationships to God, gender and the body. They achieve profound strength and beauty in their faltering and vulnerability. Their releases on the Tone List catalogue have been among the label's most acclaimed.

Jasmin Wing-Yin Leung explores psychoacoustic phenomena and memory through an exploratory approach to the erhu, sometimes in assemblages with recordings and precisely tuned electronic tones. An invited artist to Tone List's Audible Edge Festival in 2022, Jasmin toured regional WA with Land's Air, playing in Boorloo, Mandurah and Denmark. We're excited to hang out again!

Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with a suggested price of $20, $15 or $10 depending on your means. Free tickets are available for First Nations people, companion card holders, and those experiencing financial hardship. To request one, write to Josten Myburgh at info@tonelist.com.au.
Accessibility: The LongPlay Cinema is only accessible via stairs in the interior of the space. The venue does not have accessible bathrooms on site. The accessway to the space is quite dark. Lighting will be simple and minimal and no flashing lights or strobes will be used. Sound will be gently amplified and not too loud, but sudden loud sounds may occur. Sound may occasionally be very soft or nearly inaudible.
Tone List is a Boorloo-based label for exploratory music. We acknowledge the country on which we are based - Whadjuk Noongar boodja - and its custodians and elders from all times. We also acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation as the rightful custodians of the lands on which this event takes place.
