Top Actions for Trans Allyship
Event description
Join the Minus18 Education Team for a live-streamed professional development webinar to help kick off Trans Awareness Week!
Held every year from 13 to 19 November, Trans Awareness Week is a chance to celebrate trans pride, be a trans ally, and elevate trans voices and stories.
If you're unsure about what it means to be an ally, or you're just not confident in your knowledge, that's okay. That's where we come in!
This new 60 minute session is specifically designed to give you the top knowledge needed to be a trans ally, support trans and gender diverse colleagues, clients, mates, family and the wider community.
Plus – this is NEW content for our public workshops. If you've ever attended one of these before, expect a different vibe!
The session will allow you to:
- Build your understanding of Trans terms and experiences
- Learn top allyship actions collected via consultation with TGDNB youth and adults
- Strengthen your inclusive language practice
Note: this event is 3:30pm AEDT (we're in Victoria!)
Who is this for?
Adults who'd like to extend their knowledge of the LGBTQIA+ identities and gender identities, along with practical trans allyship tools like how to use pronouns and inclusive language.
Don't worry if you haven't attended one of our public training sessions though - this session is a little different, with a special focus on supporting trans and gender diverse community.
So yes, you can attend if you've attended before – or if you've never engaged with Minus18 LGBTQIA+ training!
Is there a cost?
This is no taster session – this is our renowned LGBTQIA+ inclusion professional training, with a twist.
Our training is usually valued to organisations from $1,300 per session. To celebrate Trans Awareness Week, we are reducing the cost way down for individuals to $29-89 per person (excl. GST).
Each attendee will also receive a Digital Certificate of Training Completion via email after the session.
As well as receiving a live online training session, all proceeds from the ticket sales will go back to enabling our work continuing to champion and support LGBTQIA+ youth.
