    Event description

Join us for a fascinating discussion about what happens in communities when serious crimes are committed. Think about the following three examples:

You might recall the Snowtown murders in South Australia that came to light in 1999. John Bunting and his associates killed eleven people because as they claimed, the victims were paedophiles, homosexuals or just plain weak.

Paddy Moriarty, one of eleven residents in Larrimah, was presumed murdered in 2017 when he and his dog disappeared. But by whom? No one has been charged with his murder. All ten residents had their reasons.

In the first supreme court trail of Robert Farquharson accused and convicted of murdering his three children, one of his mates testified that Farquharson had said he was going to do something bad to his wife involving the kids on a special day. This case is now under review by media.

What's the role of police, media, the courts in cases such as these, and even if justice is served, how does that help heal communities torn aprat.
