Event description

The Totally Lit team are proud to announce that two-time Miles Franklin Award-winning author Kim Scott will deliver the festival Keynote, officially launching Totally Lit 2025.

Kim is a descendant of people living along the south coast of Western Australia prior to colonisation, and is proud to be one among those who call themselves Noongar.

Kim's debut novel, 'True Country', was published by Fremantle Press in 1993. Since then he has published 'Benang: From the Heart' (1999) and 'That Deadman Dance' (2010) - each a Miles Franklin Award-winning novel.

Amongst Kim's other publications are a series of works created in collaboration with the Wirlomin Noongar Language and Stories Project published by UWA Publishing.

Presented in association with the WA Maritime Museum and Heyder & Shears.
