This 2-day TOTR program is open to Senior Clinicians, Supervisors and Educators from all Australian states and territories.

The Teaching on the Run (TOTR) program is a staff development package that includes a number of foundation workshops (listed below) for improving the skills of health professionals involved in clinical teaching, supervision and assessment.

Workshop 1 - Clinical Teaching provides a framework for planning and delivery of workplace-based teaching activities.

Workshop 2 - Skills Teaching examines the four-step approach to teaching skills and provides participants with the opportunity to practice using it.

Workshop 3 - Assessment Fundamentals explores formative and summative assessment and discusses building competence and capability.

Workshop 4 - Planning Learning focuses on creating a learning plan that supports achievement of specific outcomes for learners on clinical placement / attachment.

Workshop 5 - Effective Group Teaching emphasizes the importance of using active learning strategies when teaching small and large groups.

Workshop 6 - Supporting Learners clarifies learner, supervision and system issues and provides a framework to address problems.

TOTR Program overview

Format
The program is delivered in a blended learning format and requires online preparation (approx. ¾-1 hour) and online or face-to-face workshops (each workshop 1.5 hours)

Certification
A certificate of completion will be provided to participants who attend and complete all components of the program.
