Tour of Five Mile Radius

Go behind the scenes at Five Mile Radius, an architecture and fabrication studio where reclaimed materials, circular design, and hands-on making come together.

Five Mile Radius is opening its working workshop, offering a rare look inside an active space filled with reclaimed materials, prototypes, and experiments in progress. Expect concrete waste being reworked, stacks of salvaged timber, steel fabrication, pigment testing, and one-off pieces at various stages of making.

Visitors will be guided through the workshop and studio, with the team sharing how materials are sourced, tested, and transformed into buildings, interiors, and furniture. Less theory, more process.

Founded in 2016, the practice works across architecture, interiors, and fabrication, drawing on a strong network of local suppliers and demolition partners to access resources others overlook. To date, Five Mile Radius has diverted over 85 tonnes of construction waste from landfill and delivered more than $20 million in circular economy focused work across South East Queensland.
