Thank you for registering for our Dam Tour!

We look forward to showing you around our facilities, where you will learn about water management and get a look inside the dam at Stagecoach Reservoir, including the hydropower plant.

A few things to note as you prepare for the tour:

Weather:

Rain is in the forecast for Friday. We hope that it will remain clear for the morning, but please be prepared with proper layers, including a raincoat and appropriate footwear. Brief portions of the tour will also require walking outdoors on trails and gravel roads.

Where and When:

The tour will begin at 9am in the parking lot adjacent to the top of Stagecoach Dam
The tour will end around 11 am.

Directions:

To Stagecoach Reservoir: A pinned location can be found here, or follow these directions:

From Steamboat, take Highway 40/Lincoln Ave south to Highway 131. Turn right on Highway 131 and drive for 6.5 miles, until you turn left onto County Road 14. Take County Road 14 for 5.3 miles, and then turn left onto County Road 18 (the entrance to Stagecoach State Park). Keep left to stay on County Road 18, following the road around the reservoir for about 1.7 miles until you reach a parking lot on the right hand side of the road. You will see the top of Stagecoach dam.
