The project preserves the relationship between the original cottage and the street while forging stronger connections between contemporary living spaces and the backyard. Together these moves promote a sense of belonging and improve everyday wellbeing.

The brief called for a robust, built-to-last approach that would support a growing family over time. Flexibility was central to the client's vision: a home that accommodates work and play, gathering and relaxing, with living spaces that engage all family members and connect directly to the backyard.
