Featuring addresses on the UN Women Australia’s International Women’s Day theme, ‘Cracking the Code: Innovation for a Gender Equal Future’, from two exceptional women:

Lauren Sheppard

For most of her professional life, Lauren has been a minority in traditionally male-dominated businesses. Now Managing Director at Tasmania’s largest independent craft brewery, Moo Brew, Lauren’s CV traverses the finance, superannuation, automotive and wine industries. Her Tasmanian business pedigree includes roles with Jackson Motor Company, Frogmore Creek, Domaine A Vineyard and Moorilla Estate.

Since coming on board as Moo Brew’s first female General Manager in 2020, Lauren has spearheaded its diversion from exclusively big stylistic beers to a wider range of approachable craft products, secured a larger and more diverse market share, launched its first e-commerce platform direct from brewery, and – excitingly – developed the soon-to-be-launched Manky Sally’s, a taphouse, bar and nanobrewery in Salamanca.

As well as sitting on the Executive at MONA, Lauren was made Managing Director of the MONA-owned Moo Brew last year, and continues to oversee its strategic and operational direction.

Jill Skromanis

Jill is a Diversity and Inclusion and Organisational Development specialist, coach and mentor with a depth of industry experience in many sectors around the globe. In her role as Senior Associate with Melbourne-based Diversity Partners, Jill works with organisations to achieve more diverse and inclusive workplaces, improving innovation, decision-making and commercial performance.

During her career, Jill has worked with the National Mutual Life Association of Australia, ANZ, Zurich European General Insurances and IAG. She has also been actively involved in guiding strategies to support the LGBTIQ+ community and allies, and is the Chief People Office with The Pinnacle Foundation, supporting young LGBTIQ+ people to achieve their full potential through the gift of education.

Raffle tickets available for purchase on the day, with all proceeds to Dress for Success Hobart. Dress for Success is a global movement that empowers disadvantaged women to achieve economic independence including preparing and presenting for employment opportunities, networking and mentoring support.
