Event description

Town & Gown dinners used to be a staple in a university town such as Madison. Small groups of influential alums and citizens sharing an intimate meal monthly or quarterly with an academic star or a top administrator from UW-Madison. Join WisPolitics.com & WisBusiness.com as we revamp the concept for the 21st century, linking interested connected members at the Club with top talent from UW, in a casual conversational setting.

We launch on Thursday, March 2nd, with special guest Mike Knetter, CEO of the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association. Knetter, the former leader of the UW-Madison Business School, is also a top international economist who can field questions on the economy, higher education and the power of UW-Madison alumni in an increasingly interconnected world. Mike joined the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association as president and chief executive officer in 2010 after eight years as dean of the Wisconsin School of Business. Prior to joining UW, he was associate dean and professor of international economics in the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He previously served as senior staff economist for the Council of Economic Advisers for former presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Please join us for cocktails, appetizers and lively conversation beginning at 5:30 PM. Knetter will give remarks and answer questions from around 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM. One price gets you entry, two drink tickets and light hors d’oeuvres. The price for Madison Club members is $32 and the price for pre-registered guests is $39.
