Toxic Waters
Event description
2 screenings Sunday 27th and Wed 30th July 2025
Join us on a scenic journey through Australia's mighty rivers and learn how deep the planets connections truly are through the story of the Rainbow Serpent. Legends tell how the serpent created the vital watersheds from the mountains to the sea.
Mother Nature and her beauty is second to none but what happens when you poison the threads of this life-giving water system? We unveil the true consequence of harming the connecting river systems and show how deadly chemicals have found their way throughout many river systems and now with one of the largest chemicals experiments in the world taking place in Australia.
We start our journey in the mighty Swan river and the picturesque South Western Australia region before travelling north to the remote Kimberley where we learn just how deadly chemicals can be from the indigenous people in the area.
Then we head to the Far North Queensland coast and the ancient Daintree rainforest, before making our way down through the watersheds that feed into the Great Barrier Reef from the wet Tully region, Carnarvon gorge, Mary river and more. We follow these incredible river systems all the way down through the Great Dividing Range to the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Along the way we learn the truth of how harmful chemicals have been spread throughout our country and how chemical programs are being accelerated throughout Australia with sometimes deadly consequences. Chemicals are silent killers that find their way into diverse ecosystems changing the fabric of life.
This is a story of beauty and the Beast and how Australia's precious threads of life are being poisoned.
