Join us in the Wollongong Botanic Garden as we explore the tracks and scats of our native wildlife

Did you know that wombat poo is cubed or that flying foxes help build forests?

Join us in the garden as we explore the tracks and scats of some well-known Australian animals and learn to identify them by the clues they leave behind.

This program will include learning about what types of food different animals eat, what types of tracks they leave behind and sculpting up some pretend animal scats. We will then go on an adventure through the gardens following some animal trails. Hopefully we also spot a few different animals.

This outdoor program includes hands on activities that are designed to expand participant’s knowledge of the natural environment.

NOTE: This session is suitable for ages 6 to 10 years. Check out our other Humanitix events for our 8 to 12 years version of this program.

Dress for Adventure!

Wear fully enclosed shoes that can get a bit wet
Wear sun-smart clothing, hat and suncreen
Bring along a bottle of water to drink
Dress warm for fun outside!

On the Day

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time for check in.
Onsite parking is available in P1 at the main entrance and P2 off Madoline St. The closest street parking is on Northfields Ave entering the gardens via the admin office gates, or on Murphys Ave with access via the pedestrian gate. Click here for a map of the garden.

Cancellation Details

Minimal numbers apply for this program to run
This event may be cancelled or postponed if the weather conditions aren't suitable. We will notify you via text and email no later than 1 hour prior to the start of the event if the program is not able to run due to the weather
In the case that the event is cancelled due to weather conditions the ticket cost will be refunded

Additional Info

All participants must have a ticket and be supervised by an adult. Adults also require a ticket but these tickets are free.
This is an outdoor event and will include activities along the bushland trails within the gardens.
Safety in all our activities is always considered however participants attend activities at their own risk and adults are responsible for their children.

Full refunds are available up to 7 days before the event. No refunds can be provided after that date.
