Description
Volunteer at Viles Arboretum to Help us Maintain our Trails and Gardens.
Viles Arboretum has 224-acres of land and 7-miles of trails that are open every day of the year and free to visit. Volunteers play a vital role in helping to keep our spaces maintained.
Trail Work
Volunteer to help us maintain and improve our trails:
Clearing brush to widen trails
Raking to smooth trails
Removing rocks and roots
Installing and maintaining water bars and bog bridging
To volunteer, click the green "Signup to Volunteer" button then choose the date you would like to volunteer.

When you arrive at the Arboretum, please go into the visitor center to check-in at the gift shop desk. Please check-out before you leave. This allows us to know who is on-site as well as helps us track volunteer hours.

Our Visitor Center and bathroom are accessible.
Our grounds and trails may not be accessible to you.
Volunteer opportunities may involve a variety of physical movements including, but not limited to, walking, bending, standing, reaching over head, and lifting.
Please let us know of any accessibility requirements you have and we will provide accommodations.
There is a water fill station in our Visitor Center.
Our Visitor Center is heated and many spaces have air conditioning.
- Be Prepared to Work Outdoors
Many volunteer opportunities take place outdoors in a variety of weather. For a positive experience:
Dress in layers
Wear sturdy (waterproof if possible) shoes
Bring sun/rain/snow gear
Apply bug spray and sunscreen
Take breaks, indoors, when needed
Stay hydrated
