TrailGraze "Food for Thought" Brunch
Description
Food for Thought is a TrailGraze event presented by Tasting Trail Tasmania. It is a relaxed, thought-provoking long-table brunch bringing together food, science and storytelling in one of Tasmania’s most beautiful vineyard settings.
Hosted at Ghost Rock Wines on Saturday, 11 April, this curated experience pairs exceptional Tasmanian produce with insights from local producers and scientists from the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), exploring how research, environment and innovation shape what ends up on our plate.
Guests are welcomed from 9:00am, with a coffee van on site for those wanting a caffeine hit before settling in. Brunch begins at 9:15am, opening with a sparkling mimosa featuring Ghost Rock’s wine, setting the tone for a generous shared table and a morning of great food and conversation.
This isn’t a lecture or a panel — just relaxed conversations shared over food, with stories and insights sprinkled between courses.
Designed for curious minds and people who love great food (and where it comes from), Food for Thought is an engaging, welcoming brunch that celebrates Tasmanian produce and ideas.
Tickets include a mimosa on arrival and three shared brunch courses.
Across the morning, guests will hear from:
Dr Justin Cappadonna, Entomologist (TIA), sharing the role of beneficial insects in healthy food systems
Alison Ctercteko, TIA PhD candidate and Master of Wine, exploring how smoke-affected grapes can be transformed into sparkling wine and how smoky compounds evolve as wine ages
Dr Bianca Das, Soil Scientist (TIA), discussing subsoil amelioration and how FOGO can reduce waste while improving soil health
This is a curated, share-style brunch designed to be enjoyed together at the table. While a vegetarian option is available, we’re unable to cater for all dietary requirements. Please include any dietary needs in the notes field at checkout.
