Training & Networking Day for Bay Celebrants & Potential Members

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Members and potential members are invited to a unique day here in Whakatane, in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, to come together and learn, as well as share our craft and offer support to each other in these challenging times.

The content of the day will include: An excellent workshop on all aspects of funeral and death care, led by Bradley Shaw, a visit to our natural burial site and an explanation as to how this differs from a standard burial, as well as our role in the aftermath of a funeral: the do’s and don’ts of family after care.

We also have wellness facilitator Elin Frick to help us through our own health and wellness along with some strategies to maintain our momentum and remain at the top of our profession, particularly when our own energy and emotions are involved in walking alongside a family in death, expected or unexpected. Self care is something we generally don’t prioritise.

As always a sumptuous and scrumptious luncheon will be included, and there will be a sharing and networking session too.

10am start, so that most don’t have to leave home in the dark...and with enough time to car-pool and continue the dialogue on your way home. Reach out and invite a celebrant who is not a member, and help us grow our membership.
