TransFaith Online Peer Group (5 weeks)

Connect online with a small group of trans, gender diverse and gender expansive folks from Christian faith backgrounds. All sessions will be facilitaed by Steff Fenton (they/them) a trans/genderqueer pastor, speaker, writer and friend (www.steffenton.co). Over the five weeks together, we will: explore and celebrate the Divinity of our trans experiences; flip some of the harmful scripts from the Christian tradition with alternative Divine loving truths; cultivate a toolkit of spiritual and faith practices that feel authentic to our own journeys; find connections between our trans and faith experiences; identify and strengthen the supportive networks around us; and share our hopes for the future.

This group is welcome to all transgender people who have an experience of Christian faith, past or present, whether you are religious, non-religious, spiritual or something else. The group will be best suited to people who have a desire to connect with their faith and/or spirituality in a healing and safe way. Sessions will include discussions of spiritual practices, such as prayer, as well as religious language, like bible passages. However, all language will be inclusive and affirmative, and discussions will be facilitated in a strengths-based, trauma-informed way (including opt-outs).
