Event description

Join us for a Trans Pride Community Picnic!

Perth’s Pride month is just around the corner and we’re starting it by coming together to celebrate trans joy!
Come along with a picnic rug or chair, and some snacks to share. This event is for trans and gender diverse people and our loved ones, so you’re welcome to bring along a friend or two! We’ll provide some light refreshments and optional activities (like lawn games!). This event is family friendly, and all ages are welcome.

When: Sunday 5th November, 3.30pm-5.30pm
Where: Harold Boas Gardens, Perth – to make us easy to spot we’ll have a trans flag (or a few!). We’ll likely be along the Delhi St side of the park.

Getting there:
Harold Boas Gardens is accessible by public transport via train and getting off at City West Station, or using the yellow or green cat buses, in addition to having paid street parking along Delhi St.

Registration is optional but not necessary. You are welcome to just join us on the day.

Accessibility:
This park unfortunately has limited wheelchair accessibility. The picnic will be on a grassed area, and the park has a high curb surrounding it. There are a couple of ramps into the park at various spots along the perimeter. The City of Perth website lists the Park as “wheelchair accessible.”
There are public toilets and drinking fountains in the park.

The park:
If you want to have a quiet moment away from the picnic, the park is lovely to walk through! There’s a “cascading rock waterfall, a winding lake, secret gardens and a bridge crossing” as well as a playground with a swing. The park will have a mix of shade and sunny spots (pending the weather).

Acknowledgement of Country:
We acknowledge the traditional Custodians of the land on which we connect, support and embrace each other - Whudjuk Noongar Boodja (Country). We keep in our hearts the resilience, resistance and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and recognise the Elders that have been, will be, and are today. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
